Looks like the official website has gotten a complete overhaul. Not a ton of new content but there’s now a Blog section (which features a new blog from bassist Matt Mcjunkins), a Q & A Section (complete with the ability to submit your own questions) and a forum. The Navigation Bar also scrolls over to reveal a “coming soon” bonus section

More pictures of Billy from the WMMR 40th Birthday Party event that took place in Camden this past weekend have shown up on wireimage.com.

Unfortunately with wireimage you have to actually purchase an account to see them full size but you can view the small versions of the full set here

EDIT: 2 of the wireimage photos are up fullsize on gettyimages.com and can be seen here and here

Skinnie Entertainment Magazine did a write-up and interview with Billy recently:

Howerdel is aware that inevitably there will be comparisons between A Perfect Circle and Ashes Divide, but isn’t worried about it. He has no intention of trying to convert APC fans to the new project. He knows what is being said through reviews but ultimately loves making music. “I’m trying to make music I believe in. I make music that comes from the heart and whoever latches on, latches on.”

Super extra special thanks to ninjadennis for the heads up

This was posted in the blog on the ASHES dIVIDE myspace last night

sorry Portland, ME

• I just found out about the blog that was posted regarding the venue (and city) change from Portland ME, to Cleveland, OH. Yes, we did play Cleveland instead of Portland. Someone with very poor taste wrote that blog informing people of the switch. I apologize first for the last minute cancelation but more so for the inflammatory wording of that blog. ASHES dIVIDE will come back and play a free show for Portland.
• Thank you for your understanding,
• Billy

DailyGazette out of Schenectady, NY posted an article/interview with Billy today.

Regarding the recent radio/festival shows:

“I can honestly say I’m pretty picky, control freak, detail-oriented, tortured artist,” Howerdel said. “I’m hearing it in the monitor. So it was hard to hear the crowd reaction, but on a scale of one to 10, where one is eggs thrown and 10 is people are into it, sure, we were a three-and-a-half, four.”

Rockeyez.com has posted an interview with Billy that took place back in April 2008.

“Brian Rademacher: What are your feelings about the current state of the music business?

Billy Howerdel: I think everyone who wants to make an impact in music today has to work very hard and be very creative and never stop thinking about what tomorrow can bring music. I think I am lucky enough to partner up with Island Records, who is being very gracious and giving a lot of attention and focus onto this project and it hasn’t even been released yet. I feel very fortunate.”
