Hey everyone. So our break is almost over. After spending some time off with our friends and loved ones, it’s time to get back to where we need to be: on the stage. We have many headlining shows coming up (alongside our good friends Dead Ponies starting in Santa Barbara,CA) and of course Projekt Revolution which starts in Boston in mid-july.

It was great meeting and performing for all of you last month and I can’t wait to see you out there! We will once again do our best to come and say hello at every show so don’t be shy ;)

Washington based news source The Kitsap Sun has posted a new article/interview with Billy.

“It’s just the very beginning,” he said. “I could sit here and try to be more overly confident about it and ell the whole thing, but I’ve tried to be as vulnerable and open about this as I can in interviews, and I think I’ve gotten in trouble. I’ve kind of heard back from people like try not to say too much. But that’s who I am, at least in interviews I’ve decided I’m going to say how I feel about it.”

Head on over to their site to check it out.

A brief interview with Billy has been posted over at buffalo.yourhub.com

“The Stone” did very well over in rock radio, but it seems like these days that’s all a band is allowed is that one hit single. Would you agree??

“There are more fans of music then ever. It’s easier access to music now. I’m just trying to survive it. I guess it depends on your state of mind and where you are at.”

Would you like to work with Trent Reznor on any project in the future?

Sure. I have always had a tremendous respect for Trent. I always think Trent always has something of worth to put forth musically.

I was wondering - what other bands do you like and what other bands are you friends with?

I am good friends with Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio. I think their new stuff sounds really cool. We are playing at some of the same places, but I don’t think our tours will cross paths, which sucks. I became friends with the guys from Innerpartysystem, who we just toured with, who are really cool guys. Stone Temple Pilots have been very gracious and have taken us under their wing, we did a bunch of shows with them and they invited us to do some more shows in the future.

Do you guys have a favorite song to play live?

Probably “Sword”

What inspired you to choose the name ‘Ashes Divide’?

The name “Ashes Divide” came from one of the longest-simmering debates amongst people in the world — why wars are fought and why people fight and for me it just has a great significance.

What software did you use to produce the album, Pro tools/Cubase? It sounds fantastic. And do you use Guitar Rig plug in?

I use Logic Pro with Protools hardware and Apogee hardware. I use Native Instruments guitar rigs and Waves TDM plug-ins and Waves Mechanics plug-ins.

Billy posted a new blog on myspace this afternoon…

Vacation, lyrics and singles

I am officially on vacation for the first time in a long time. I fly back to LA to rehearse with the boys in a week. Then it’s off to Santa Barbara for a show. We head north after stopping off in Vegas and…oh, you get the idea, go read the tour dates.

I just put up the lyrics for the three songs that are up (Sword, Enemies and The Stone). I will post more later on.

It is time to release another single to radio (and maybe a video?). What would your vote be for…
a) the new single
b) another song up on this myspace page?

Type 3 Media posted a new interview with Billy in which they discuss touring and life on the road.

T3M: It looks like your band is gelling pretty well, and you looked comfortable in that center stage spot. How big of an adjustment has that been for you?

BH: I think it was a bigger adjustment with the guitars… really trying to figure out how to play and sing at the same time, and trying to do it where it’s second nature and not having to think about it. I set it up so we had like two months rehearsal to try and figure it out. I think everyday it gets a little bit more comfortable for me. That’s the everyday experience from being on the road. It’s really fun. I think the band sounds really good, and every day it grows. I wanted to stay pretty close to the record for right now with the songs we play. We’re also doing a cover song that’s just kind of growing every day.
