ASHES dIVIDE on MTV2’s Rock The Deuce

ASHES dIVIDE will be hosting an edition of Saturday Rock The Deuce on MTV2 which is scheduled to air tonight August 30th at 10pm ET.
For those of you that can’t make it to a television at that time can watch it all over at mtv.com or view just the portions with the band via the players below.

I am now aware that embedding the videos below probably wasn’t the wisest decision considering the current layout. However, given the amount of time already spent thanks to an ungodly slow wireless connection I am going to leave it for now.

Unrated Magazine Interview with Billy

Unrated magazine has posted an interview with Billy conducted on an earlier stop in the Projekt Revolution tour.

“Tonight will be the third show so we only had two so far. It has been good. The first show in Boston had more people than yesterday’s show in Pittsburg which had a pretty thin turnout. There were maybe a hundred people in the pit, a hundred spread out in the seats and the rest were on the lawn. I saw people going for it in the lawn though. At times like yesterday I try to focus all my attention right to the front.”

Divide & Conquer : Creative Loafing Article

An interview with Billy and an accompanying article has been posted by the Charlotte based weekly newspaper Creative Loafing.

“Your muscles do certain things and that’s just how it comes out. There’s a human element that comes out in guitar playing just like a voice,” Howerdel says. “I hear people doing the comparing thing, and I get why people do it. I wrote stuff in A Perfect Circle and I wrote all of the stuff here, so of course it’s going to sound a bit similar to some ears. I’m fine with that. To me, it’s a different thing and there’s enough of a difference from APC.”

“ASHES dIVIDE Gearing Up For ‘Revolution’”

Radio station KX96 out of Western Manitoba has posted a very brief article regarding ASHES dIVIDE and their involvement in the Projekt Revolution Tour.

Howerdel told us it doesn’t matter to him at this early stage in the band’s career how big the shows are or who they’re playing with: “It’s part of the deal, especially when you’re just starting out. You go where they tell you to go. You know, we kind of leave it up to the people who work for us to do that, and the booking agent and management kind of pick what would be best for us to go out and head to. It’s later on when you get a little bit of flexibility and a little bit of success that you can start to pick and choose where you go and what you do.”

Great Falls Tribune Interview With Billy

The Great Falls Tribune out of Great Falls, Montana has posted a recent interview with Billy.

On writing lyrics:

“It was more about the honest, simpler things. Personal dynamics and introspection and figuring a lot of stuff out,” he said. “Enough of it is masked for me where I just kind of skew the timeline of things or the story a little bit. It helps to put a little layer of protective skin on it for me.”

“I can get out there every night and hopefully sing these things and not start concentrating too hard on what it really is that I’m singing about,” he continued. “I’m a pretty sensitive person, so I don’t know how much I’ll be able to handle, but we’re about to find out.”
